Per the Sun Times: "It never should have happened, and I never should have done it," Paxson said Monday. "It was a heat-of-the-moment thing, and I was very frustrated with the way we were playing."What also disappointed me is that...

VDN........haven't we forgotten about his way of running a team by now?

Thibodeau has destroyed anything good VDN ever did because Thibs is the real deal on both sides of the ball. VDN just screws shit up too much.

BUT, X-Factor is right. We should just let this shit go.

To be fair to VDN, who did he have to coach for the two years he was here?
Derrick Rose and Joakim Noah grew right in front of us in that Boston series. Gordon left for his payday.
Thibodeau is better VDN on his best day however, its unfortunate VDN can't coach an actual team, and not one player.
Point is VDN did not have low post presence, shooters or defenders like Thibodeau has; and doesn't deserve the crap he gets. He guided the Bulls to the playoffs 2 years in a row. Wasn't COY, but still deserves respect and some credit.

Agree with X factor, should be over and done with. Worry about how much playoff tickets will be. Not last year.

His first year VDN had a loaded team.

rose/hinrich/duhon
Gordon/hinrich/ salmons/duhon
Salmons/tim thomas/hinrich Honorable mention: deng
Tyrus thomas/Noah D. 'no' Gooden
Noah/Brad miller/gray

Really our big man depth sucked, but we had a pretty decent team.

Last year our bench sucked, but we had some decent starters. Rose-hinrich-deng-tyrus/taj-Noah. Our starters sucked, Most of it was VDN's terribble offense.

Yup and only 3 of those players remain. Wonder how much better VDN would have been if he would have been given the players the Bulls have now.

not much. Deng would be shooting contested long 2's. Rose would still be amazing. Noah would run the pick and role with rose, and Noah would be expected to generate some form of offense for himself near the 3pt line. Korver would and brewer would be running iso plays for themselves.

The biggest knock against del negro, he sucked at running the offense. The other big knock on Del negro, his 'offensive system' wasn't catered to the players that he had. Seriously, luol deng iso on lebron james is a terrible idea!

I think about Del negro, but it's mostly about how much better this team would be w/o del negro. Imagine if we had a real coach from day 1. Deng would have a year of shooting the 3 ball under his belt. Rose would have been playing defense from day 1. Noah would continue to rock.

Here's the real thrust of the argument. If we had a legitimate coach from day 1, chicago would have been a more attractive destination for free agents. If chicago was the 4/5th seed going into free agency, can you really tell me that there wouldn't be a stronger drive to come to chicago ?

VDN couldn't do much right, including pronounce Kirk Hinrich's name right.

No need for Pax to beat a dead horse. I haven't thought about Vinny all yr til this.

Also, anyone even remotely trying to defend VDN in his time here, just stop. There's 1 reason & 1 reason only why we went to the playoffs 2 years under him & his name is Derrick Rose. End of story.
