idk what everyone else thinks but this 162 game schedule just drags on. I think they should start the season May 1st and start playoffs early September. Half the teams stadiums are to cold to play baseball in April still and fans don't want to go sit out in 40 degree temps.

What do you guys think?

Apparently, it's too difficult to avoid playing games at cold weather locations in April.

I don't think the baseball season drags on but it would be nice because of the weather. Not that it's generally a big deal.

But since cutting down games will never ever happen because of money, the only solution would be to schedule doubleheaders..and that seems unlikely as well.

I'd be ok with going at low as 140 IF they agree to an international playoffs.

Basically, China Baseball League rejoins the Asia series with a defined bracket. Then the Nicaraguan and Colombian Professional Baseball Leagues join the Caribbean Series with a defined bracket. The champions of the Italian Baseball League and Honkball Hoofdklasse (Dutch Major League) play in a Europe Series.

The Europe Series and Asia Series champions face off in the Eurasia Series. The Caribbean Series and World Series champions face off in the American Series.

The American Series and Eurasia Series champions face off in the Global Series.

Also cut Spring Training to 30 games.

That cuts 22 games off the schedule, and about 9 games off the pre-season schedule for a maximum of 14 extra games for one team, and it would likely be over in 8-10 games more often than not.

Basically a Baseball Club World Cup.

I wouldn't mind if baseball started after the NFL draft and ended in September...

162 is too much, but when you start talking about taking games away, you start talking about losing money. Owners will NEVER agree to it, nor would the players once they understood it meant drastic pay cuts.

NBA has the same problem.

Needs to be shortened but it will never happen.

162 seems perfect. Especially the way playoffs are/will be done. It puts value on the regular season which the NBA and NHL suffer from

There seems to be enough warm weather and domed for at least the first three weeks to play ball warm. I would be ok with a week on az/fla that counts too

I like basbeall, so I say na. Plus I am a big fan of stats and records and that would change up everything in that aspect. Unless you wanna be like Ford Frick and asterisk every damn thing...

I'm okay with the number of games in the season, if they cut it back a bit (which would never happen, due to loss of revenue) i wouldn't be upset, as I can't ever watch ALL 162 games a year, though I do all i can to watch them all.
