Maybe. Ozzie's biggest asset has always been the ability to bring attention from the media to himself then the crappy ball players. That has inmeasurable value

If Ozzie is here next season, I'll root for the Cubs.

Ozzie and Walker should both be fired.

Ozzie has terrible in game managing. He doesn't know how to use the bullpen right, he doesn't know how to make a good lineup, and he just isn't a great manager. The only reason he is still here is because of 2005. Get over it, it's not gonna happen again with him.

Walker is just awful. Seeing good hitters come here and tank and then go somewhere else and start hitting well is painful.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Minnesota United FC
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
  1. Notre Dame Fighting Irish
Who is leaps and bounds better than Ozzie right now managing wise?

the problem is that some of those guys, (Pierre) arent worth defending and Ozzie is just kidding himself.

You are right he's not worth defending. That said Ozzie believes, and I agree, that keeping the media from hounding players who are stinking up the place helps giving that player an additional thing not to worry about and helps the player get back to the roses

I dont think JR would ever get rid of Ozzie strictly because of 2005. However, I think Ozzie will be in Miami next year, thank God.

good point, and in Chicago that might mean something.

What does that mean?

fisch asked whos a better candidate to replace Ozzie, out there.

there are a couple, maybe not serious, but managers can become available. just because Joe Girardi isnt calling games right now doesnt mean Ozzies replacement isnt out there.
