Its taken only one play all season long for Cutler and Peppers to end up on IR. Either could end up on IR the first play of the playoffs.

You cannot seriously think playing your starters to win meaningful games = playing your starters to win meaningless games?

Well then according to your logic we should be starting our best players for the entire pre-season.

I dont have a position either way on playing starters in meaningless game or not..There's cases that show resting your starters screw you up then cases that show it doesnt effect a team that much. The Saints and Colts both rested guys last year and made the Super Bowl...the Patriots and Giants in 07 didnt rest starters and both went to the Super Bowl..so I think it doesnt really matter if you rest guys or not.

My real point was just stating that guys can end up on IR at any point in the season. Its mainly just luck (I think alot of luck has swung our way) and obviously by removing guys from the game you take any chance of something like that happening for this game, but like I said the first play of the playoffs something can happen anyways as well.

And did we suffer any injuries? No.

Nick Roach, Major Wright (no shock there) and Chris Harris all wound up getting banged up. Injuries doesn't mean just OUT and too injured to play. Being less fresh is part of the injuries debate.

Smith said linebacker Nick Roach(notes) sustained a shoulder injury, safety Chris Harris(notes) had a stinger and safety Major Wright(notes) had a leg injury, but Smith said he didn’t think any of the injuries were serious

A stinger is nothing to worry about for Harris....Roach and Wright would have played anyways if our starters weren't out there, so the injury still would have happened.

The point wasn't us knowing we'd have an injury. The point was risking an injury in a compeltely meaningless game to one of our best players was not worth the risk.

No one getting hurt still doesn't mean it wasn't a borderline Special person risk to take.

By halftime the Bears had proved enough. Get the starters the **** off the field.
