And Ric Bucher's sources are saying that Players Assn is considering taking legal action against the Magic on Dwight's behalf, and the goal would be to eliminate Dwight's opt-in and make him a free agent this summer. Who gives a **** about his character? And Howard isn't that cocky. The fact is that Howard is the most useful player in basketball. He is a beasty Center in an era that nobody else is somewhere near him and he is the best defender in the game. With him and a bunch of assholes you are a top 3 team in the East. With him and Rose the only thing you have to do to win the championship is to find some good 3pt shooters like Korver to build around them. With him,Rose,Boozer,Hamilton and Korver you have the championship in your pocket.

Get him a second superstar and rebuild the roster. He is in a team that wouldn't make the playoffs without him. And allow me to say that the Eastern conference is pretty weak. He has every right in the world to request a trade.

He's not the best defender in the game. He is the best in the game at defending the paint, but LBJ is the best in the game at playing defense. LBJ can guard the 1 through the 5 and do it very well.

You're wrong about the East "pretty weak". The West fell off hard last year and will continue to do so until the Spurs get young again and the Lakers find some more parts to put around Kobe.

Good stuff...waiting on a well done investigative piece on this issue Sports Illustrated, Vanity Fair, somebody...very messy.

That said, I would be fine with the Bulls making a move for Dwight Howard. Bulls would be sitting pretty for next 7-8 years. Then you just need to put the parts around them.

2010-11 Eastern conference 8th seed (Indiana) had a <0.500 record. Last year the East was improved and the West fell off hard but still the East is much much much weaker.
