No way the Sox pick up Peavy's $22 million option for next season. I will be shocked if they do.

I heard somewhere that the Sox are gonna try and resign Youkilis for a little cheaper then the $13 million option he has for right now.

Liriano and Myers are rest of the season rentals for the Sox, thats it.

I wouldn't be heartbroken if Gavin Floyd went elsewhere in the offseason.

Pierzynski out of these 6 players has the best chance to be back next year. Is Tyler Flowers really ready to take over as the everyday starting catcher for the Sox? I see AJ getting another 2 year deal to remain on the South Side.

I'd like to see AJ resigned for another year or two. Would love to keep Peavy, but that $22 million option is too much. Youkilis would be nice to hold onto. I'm ok with losing Floyd, he never really has impressed me. Much rather keep Liriano.

youkilis would be ideal and the same with AJ. Morel is doing horrible in AAA so unless they go with an olemedo type cheap player youkilis could be an option.

I doubt they'll pick up their options. But I hope both are willing to come back on 2-3 year deals, but they're human and money does talk.

Peavy's pitched well this year, but that still doesn't justify the $22 mil option. Agree pretty much with everyone else in this thread. A.J. and Youk should be brought back. The rest, besides Peavy, aren't too big of a loss.

Still not sure if Olmedo could play well offensively as an every day player. Defensively, yes. But do we really want another Beckham?

I wouldn't mind Liriano back too. When he's not walking batters, he's tough to beat.

Bat Beckham second again and the issue of his bat is solved.

So move youk out of the 2 hole and eliminate the OBP in the top 3. real smart. You do know that the sox 1-3 lead the league in seeing pitches correct? You dont take OBP guys out of the 2 hole for gordon fucking beckham. the 2 hole was a huge sample size and most knowledgeable fans would not trust that to last for a prolonged period of time.

but the 2 hole is the cure. maybe he is just a bad hitter.

Yep, he was killing it while he hit second.

he was in a short duration. again takin youk out of the 2 hole for beckham is the stupidest thing the sox could ever do.....hence why he is batting number 2 anymore and youk not pushed down. need the OBP

No, no. I liked him in the 2 hole before we acquired Youk.

Played quality for longer than two weeks Dews. He looked to figure it out prior to Youk being signed. He's a kid that needed a few years in the minors or the protection of a quality lineup. He was tearing it up for like 6 solid weeks prior to youk at 2.

He had the OBP. Nad if youk batted like 7th, Rios and AJ would be that more dangerous. His OBP would still be there making Ramirez better too.

Robin should know first hand what moving a guy needing protection from the 2 hole means.

But keep on with the "can't move youk and his high OBP down in the lineup." It works for you.
