Tonight is the NBA Draft as are all aware.
This also marks a time where three Dook players are in the draft. Two of them are projected to be late first or early second round picks. The Bulls have three picks in this area. We all know that Gar/Pax has a hard on for all things Dook, so my question is this:
Which one of these guys do you think the Bulls will pick, because you know they are going to pick up one of them.
I am stating my position as dead set against this, but I'm not sitting in the GM chair and they are. Let's look at the Bulls' unhealthy obsession with this program. Yes I said unhealthy, sue me. I say the Bulls because this started before Gar/Pax.
Bulls Dook draft picks:
Elton Brand (20 & 10 guy, but was a black hole and was very selfish and no leader, traded)
Jay Williams (lots of promise, but went the Bobby Hurley route)
Chris Duhon (overrated PG that never really got to play, and when he got to NY, hasn't shown much)
Luol Deng (Only Dook draft pick still on the team. The best of the bunch, but prior to this season was very injury prone. Has a decent mid-range jumpshot and eats up minutes and is a good slasher when he wants to be)
Dook Free Agents:
Grant Hill (Tried to sign him in 2000, while he was still on crutches and future was uncertain. Would take him years to be a decent player in the league and now he's just old)
Kobe Bryant (I know he went straight to the league from high school, but he would've went to Dook had he gone to college, he's said this much. He used the Bulls to get a better contract and players on his Lakers team and had no intention of coming here)
J J Redick (Signed him in the Summer of 2010, but Orlando matched his deal. Never really gets off the bench, but got playing time late. Can't say what he would've done here)
Carlos Boozer (Signed in the Summer of 2010 and immediately got injured and missed all of training camp and parts of the season off and on. Just when he was getting his groove, Hasheen Thabeet injures his leg and he never fully recovers. Disappeared in the playoffs, despite running his mouth a lot.)
Moral of this story?
Please lets avoid all things Dook blue this year, but we all know that isn't going to happen. So who else is going to be added to this list?
Is there anyone I forgot?
Feel free to add on.
