I have no issues with snakes. Keeping one as a pet though? Tempting but probably more trouble than it's worth.

Fiance and I own a Leonidas King snake. That's her choice, I'm not a huge snake person, but she loves having that little guy so I'm ok with it.

We had a Ball Python same as the snake in the OP story. Wife and kid loved it, not my kind of critter.

What do you do with it? It's not like you can take it in the yard and play with it lol.

She takes it out and holds it from time to time, we feed it a live small mouse once a week. Clean its water and maintain its cage. about as useful as a hamster or something like that if you ask me.

I am a dog guy personally. I love my pitties.

Pretty much what Burque said, they held the thing, I kept my distance, and had nothing to do with it. I remember it was high maintenance, they had to keep our heating pad under it's terrarium or tank or whatever. When it finally died I had to act all sad because a fucking snake died.

They're hardly venomous, but I guess the issue here is the same as any. Don't bring pets to school without consent. Snake, cat, bear, parrot, chimichangas, get permission first.

It's probably okay to bring a chimichanga to school for lunch. Most of the other stuff for show and tell only. No Bears.

Now if you could please go answer my PM from two days ago, thank you.

Nothing wrong with most snakes. I've never understood people that are freaked out by largely harmless animals: snakes, spiders, other insects, sharks, et cetera. If you want something to actually worry about why not cars and such that are fairly likely to harm you at some point? Or the fact that, statistically, over the average lifespan an individual meets roughly 10 murderers (assuming numerous factors that are involved in living like an "average American lifestyle").

It was gross AF having a snake in my house, when Tarantulas were mentioned, I used a father/husband veto and said 'the spider or me' they talked it over and I won. It was a closed vote, but I'm sure I crushed it because that's what I do to fucking spiders!

"snakes, spiders, other insects, sharks, et cetera" fucking species traitor, why don't you go marry a spider.

I get what you're saying and that all makes sense, but fo real? I'm fairly used to spiders as I used to sleep in the basement of my parents house in HS so I killed probably 3-4 daily. Snakes just freak me out. I can deal with a tiny garter snake, but anything better then that, **** it I'm out. People are afraid of and have much more weird phobias.
