Am I the only one who doesn't care about anything related to it? The ground shook, big deal. Now all of the news outlets can't find anything else to talk about but the earthquake. Yawn fest...

It's because it happened on the east coast. Anything that happens on the east coast is infinitely more important then anything that happens elsewhere.

If you are sick of the earthquake, get ready for the hurricane. By the time the coverage of that is over, you will think that the tsunami that wiped out japan was a single rain drop compared to this hurricane.

The earthquake's magnitude was an historical event. Plus it happened on the east coast, the best states and cities are on the east. Got to make sure they're good.

That's good you didn't. I wish I could say the same.

I've felt earthquakes before. You'll be okay. Don't worry. Just breathe in and out. :)

Breaking news!

The US Geological Survey has indicated the epicenter of the recent quake occurred in a cemetery near Washington DC. Upon visual inspection and confirmation, it has been determined the recent seismic activity was caused by our founding fathers collectively turning over in their graves.

I'm almost 100% sure my kids won't be reading about it in their history class.

And the quake only happened in parts of Virginia & DC. People are acting like the entire east coast got rocked (and by rocked I do not mean feeling or thinking you felt a tremor)...

I watch the news every day. I turned the TV off and went on the internet to get my news. Same thing there.

I'm 100% sure that history books leave out plenty of things as well.

Well it actually did rock most of the east coast. I know people in NC, SC, GA, NYC, PA, and MD personally that felt it.

We had an earthquake here in Chicago last year, during a snowstorm. It occurred 50 miles NW of downtown, at about 3AM...the epicenter was in NW Kane County in early February I believe.

It woke me up, and the only way to describe it was not a rolling movement...this shit shook the entire house as would a mortar shell.

That was only a 3.8, and centered 20 miles away.

Magnitude 3.8 - ILLINOIS

We can predict hurricanes, but earthquakes still kill with no notice and no forewarnings.
