Stop stunting every defensive play. We aren't getting sacks anyway, so mine as well play good rush defense.
Sadly, if this trend continues, we may have to sell out a lot on blitzes and hope they get home.
If we are going to get gashed, I would rather it be done while we blitz
sign him Richard Seymour
The second part can be aided by proper tackling
Bench Shea McClellin.
Release McClellin would be even better. Horrible undersized player.
Yeah tackling has been bad. Now that I think about it, we've been saying that for at least the past 4 years. So we've been sucking a tackling for awhile.

I hate to be that guy, but the time might be coming to put Shea at LB...
They've been pretty good the past couple years, but this year is 2007 bad.
By run and pass blitzing. This team needs to play 8 men in the box and blitz from different angles. It will clog up running lanes and hopefully get pressure on the QB. Of course, it will probably also increase the chances of big plays by the opponent but ultimately that is where we are with this personnel.
We have DEs that are fairly athletic so you can mix it up and blitz the LBs while having a guy like Shea drop into coverage to fool the offense. Either way, just waiting for the DL to turn it around is not going to work.
Ever since the NFL restructured practice rules not allowing as many full pads practices, tackling in general around the NFL has been terrible.
This Cohen guy should be released on Monday, serves no value. Wasting a roster spot.
I am aware, it just appears that this defense is playing with less discipline and missing more than the norm in regards to tackling.

And replaced by who? Not like quality D-lineman are on the street waiting to be signed. Barring a trade, anyone you sign to replace him will probably be of the same caliber.
