So how do we fix the pass rush and the run defense?

I honestly believe you are correct, unfortunately. That will be the only option, if the Line can't help generate pressure at times on their own. Unfortunately like you said, this will increase the chances of big plays and with our ugly tackling and cover, I think there will be more big plays fr the opponent than us stopping them. Unless we are playing the Jaguras, Raiders, and Rams.

Well other teams surive blitzing so it is what it is. One thing I will say is that if you look at the Pitt game, a lot of the big plays including 2 of Antonio Brown's TDs, the DBs were right there. It wasn't that the DBs got beat. It was that Brown just made two great catches despite good coverage. Sometimes you just gotta tip your hat if the WR makes a play. I would prefer a WR making a great play in single coverage over these wide open plays they seem to be getting in Cover 2 now.

Seymour is smart. He won't play fb again unless you pay his ass. The BEARS aren't going to pay big $$. And he only had 3 sacks last year. I didn't watch OAK, so I have no idea what he has left.

How do you fix it???

Chose a better Defensive Coordinator than one that placed his team 30th against the Rush and 22nd against the Pass last season!!!! That's how you do it!!!!!

Hopefully Emery has something in mind, almost has to make a trade. Just hate to give up draft picks.

I wouldn't hold your breath. He has already stated he wants to get more draft picks. I'm not saying it won't happen, but I don't see it. During this time of the year, if you are trying to work a trade, teams generally know you are desperate and will try to bend you over a barrel. So unless you are willing to give up a 1st or a 2nd, you probably are not going to get a big upgrade.

Not give a **** because nothing you say here is going to matter because none of you work for the Bears front office.

Oddly enough we still lead the nfl in takeaways. I thought our d would be worse but i thought our o would also be better

Do you guys realize that our defense only gave up 3 points in the second half?

3 of their touchdowns were

1 play 2 yards touchdown (intercepted pass returned to our 2 yard line)

4 plays 22 yards touchdown

2 plays 51 yards touchdown(Reggie Bush/ 2 missed tackles on this play)

Third down efficiency 2/10

They had 3 long drives that all resulted in field goals
8 plays 61 yards
11 plays 78 yards
8 plays 56 yards!

Yes it sucked that we lost and there are people who say our defense sucks, no pressure, too old, too slow, no "PEP" in their steps etc.....

I say the defense did it's job with what it had to work with.
Stafford fumbled on the goal line it bounced right back to him.
Bush fumbles, bounces right to Calvin Johnson.

Special Teams gave up 3 points on a shitty Punt by PODLESS and bad coverage
Jay Cutler gave up 7 points on the fumble( Looked like a missed block from Garza/Long)
A few bad picks one returned to the 2 yard

So with Detroit starting drive at the BEARS:
2 yard line
31 yard line
22 yard line

and at least 4 or 5 past their own 40 yard line!!!!

It's in the details people!!!

Losing Marinelli has devastated this team. They look as undisciplined as they did during the Babich era for sure.

For sure, I've seen a lot of loafing from the D this year.

Our D is worse....they are giving up over 400 yards a game! The only thing making our D look worth while was the turn overs. Yet the almighty guru that taught these players that talent is now gone. Watch the turn overs dwindle in time.

Minter needs to be active next week. He can't perform any worse than our current DTs.

I'm almost positive that is the reason the interwebs invented message boards.

Possibly, but some peeps take it too far, thus a reality check is needed. Sorry if I rained on your parade. Stay black.

LOL. Are ya sure? Be careful what you wish for. As bad as today was it can get a whole lot worse.

I do to but if it's for a stud young DT, then I'll do it knowing that pick turned out well.
