This morning when I left for work I was greeted with a whirlwind of color. I spied the gorgeous crimson cardinal taking a drink from my fatty squirrel’s water bowl. There were the orange and brown hues of robins who were hopping around the yard snacking on the remnants of bread and popcorn. And of course there were those squawking blackbirds with the yellow beaks trying to abscond with their fair share. Then that ornery blue jay swooped down , like clockwork, trying to remind all the other critters that he rules the roost. Everything was just so alive. The birds were singing and chirping and my beloved turtle doves were cooing in the neighbor’s tree. I was just overcome with such a sense of joy.

Usually when I leave for work on a Saturday morning, there aren’t many people out and about, only the diehard early birds. Today there were signs of life all over. There were already a bunch of those crazy motorcycle guys out riding around and a bunch of guys at the gas station pulling there boats behind their trucks getting stuff to go fishin’. You could feel the essence of excitement and happiness in the air. It made me feel glad to be alive and to appreciate the small wonders of life.

That's when I had my epiphany that we need a thread for people to express what their day has been like, good or bad. Share your happy moments and successes. Vent your anger and frustrations. Seek comfort for your sadness or encouragement when things aren’t going well.

So how was your day? We’re listening.

That was really well written Bri. It was so vivid I felt like I was there. Being Irish St. Patricks Day is a big deal for me. I always make sure to watch Michael Collins every St. Patricks.

I always like to watch The Quiet Man, but it hasn't been on the last couple years.

very nice Bri.

My day was Awesome! Got a ton of shit done! Got salt for the softener, got a new 2x12x8 to replace the rotten step on the front porch. Replaced the rotten one and repainted all the steps.

Then took Michelle out for Chinese on St. Patricks day. thought it was only fitting.

Now I'm sitting here on the porch listening to the Coyotes over by the Lake. Hawks game TOMORROW!

I am so sorry to hear that Rex. My heart goes out to you and his family. Those poor children.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Intresting day so far:

The good: It's snowing. Not really sticking but snowing.

The bad: he wife has to pull a 16-hour shift...on her birthday.

The ugly: I was hoping for my teams to annihilate Dallas over the weekend, but unfortunately the Timbers only tied FC Dallas. Ah well, going 2-0-1 isn't bad.

Was on a quick RV vacation last week at the request of my wife who just needed to get out of the house. So we travelled to Vancouver Island and up midway to Campbell River where I could take my son steelhead fishing.

The night after we arrived at the RV Park, Campbell River experienced it's worst storm in many years. Several items where severely damaged by falling trees and branches, including a Dodge Pickup a Cabin and a Quansit hut, and that was just near us in the camp-site. What fun.

Don't you live near the Mississippi?

Yes, but I think of it as being the big mother of rivers and like all other rivers are smaller. And I thought he was on an island so I don't think of an island having a giant river on it.

Yesterday was the day from hell and today is turning out the same way. I still have the hope that tomorrow or the day after or the day after that will be better, right?

I am at work, working on work, but also working on school. I have to come up with a learning contract or plan if you will to describe what I hope to get out of my two month long Applied Study project that will track my effort to update our Incident Management and Change Management processes. FUN....not....

Good luck with that.

I can't even accomplish a simple thing like getting the battery thing open to put batteries in something.

Don't beat yourself up about that Bri. It's a well known fact it is a huge pain in the ass to get the battery thing open.
