Yes, you read that correctly. Apparently, there's a species of spider in Brazil that's able to use its web like a parachute. This is the result.

Hate to burst your bubble, but I'm pretty sure most web weaving spiders' young spread themselves across large areas by doing that. Didn't you ever watch Charlotte's Web? Hell...there are an estimated 2.2 million spiders per acre of open field where I was born...those Brazilians can stop whining like bitches.

I have to agree with the eater of souls and pussy. Doesn't look like they're parachuting as much as walking on webs.

Why not? The confluence of women, food, and geography? Seems ideal to me.

just watch out for the ones with herpes and especially the ones with DICKS. And the ones that lead you down a dark street to be mugged.

The one's with the fat asses on the beach are okay though as long as they aren't tucked and taped and full of herpes!

A.k.a. gossamer wings.
Wired.com has an article on them. They're not flying/floating. They're a type of orb spider that lives in colonies and builds huge webs.

I'm not typically freaky about spiders. I even catch and release most of them that wander their way into my house... but those things... they look a hell of a lot bigger than the typical garden variety orbs we get here. Added to the fact that they hunt in groups... **** that. Send in the nukes.
