Hopefully this one is broadcasted on MLBN. I might have to buy MLB TV this season since I'm away from Chicago

Just bought it yesterday. $85 for the single team package. Better than the ~$130 last year for all games assuming you only want to follow one team.

Yea, they got sued or something so now they have to offer single packages and cheaper all around packages. Im glad they did because the streams sucked a good bit and they would black you out of games that you shouldn't have been blacked out on. They also charged me 3 times in a season. It took me a month to get my refunds. lol

Yep. I got an e-mail on the lawsuit settlement because I was a subscriber last year too. The blackout thing is ridiculous. I currently live in Waukesha, WI (directly west of Milwaukee about 15 miles). Cubs games are blacked out for me. Maybe if I had a 50 ft. tall antenna I could pick up Chicago TV. Maybe, but probably not.

Fortunately, I usually watch the games after the fact so it didn't bother me that much. The couple times I wanted to watch them live, a VPN did the trick. Hopefully they don't wise up to the VPN thing like Netflix sort of has.

Great that they did that. My son gave me this package for my birthday!

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Doubtful you can get it anywhere but Comcast if you have cable TV but Direct TV is practically everywhere and they carry Comcast Sportsnet Chicago as part of an inexpensive sports package they have. CSN does a large portion of the Cubs schedule.

I'm going to get in because then the ST games are on as well. I think I'll do the full package though, for $25 extra I think it's worth to see what's going on around the league. Then I can watch the last few innings of no-hitters, and some other random games.

For one team when I believe you get the entire league for $110 is way too much. Plus it's bad for someone like me that lives in Chicago but really can't always be at home to watch the game. MLB owns the rights, they need to use the net a heck of a lot better.

Sports leagues are incredibly stupid on this one. If it was me, I'd sell the digital rights to cable providers as well and then stipulate that people have the option to buy the package without cable but maybe they pay more. This would only apply to Extra Innings games (so Fox/ESPN wouldn't be in here) but I'd go

$100 - non-cable price for one team but no blackouts
$175 - cable price for entire league
$300 - non-cable price for entire league

If you buy the $100 option, $40 goes to the channels that air games in that market and $60 goes to the league. If you buy the $300 option, the league gets $250 and $50 goes to the local channels.

Yeah it is really dumb that you can't watch your local games. Especially with that feature where you can watch multiple games at a time, obviously one of the games you want to watch is probably the local team.

People on the train may want to watch the game on their phone, or at the work, party, etc but these blackouts prevent that. That would be nice if the blackouts prevented the local games from being watched on your TV, but allowed access to them via a mobile device.

Well, MLBTV still has to get their shit together...

I was a 2015 subscriber and I had been watching old 2015 games that I hadn't seen over the last month in getting ready for the 2016 season. This weekend, I signed up for the single team package for 2016. Everything was fine for a couple days, but now it's March 1st, and I can no longer watch any 2015 games despite having paid for the 2015 season too. I submitted a ticket and we'll see what they say, but they just settled a class action lawsuit about business practices like this.

It may have something to do with the fact that I switched to a single team package this year, but that shouldn't matter. I should still have access to the 2015 season. At the very least the single team games from that season.

My guess is that they purge the info for the next season.

I would've been fine with paying $85 for single team but my understanding is that the $110 package for everything came with MLB audio for free, which is a $20 value, and basically eliminates most of the price difference.

If I misunderstood, I guess I spent money I didn't have to.

Living in Mississippi it's actually perfect for me and I appreciate the $20 discount from last year. If I have a beef it's that I can't watch Braves games but until their talent starts to come up why would you want to? Last year I watched a ton of Cubs games and then a fair amount of West Coast baseball after my wife went to bed. It's well worth it in my circumstance.
