So we can't get LeBron/Bosh without getting rid of Deng.

Free Agency Dime: How much salary cap space for each team in NBA free agency? - ESPN

Chicago Bulls
Maximum cap room: 1.76 MCs

What needs to happen to get to this amount? The Bulls did most of the hard work in February and June. All that's left is to renounce their own free agents, such as Brad Miller.

What can they do to get more? Contrary to recent reports, the Bulls do not have enough cap room to sign two maximum free agents. To get to the elusive two-MC threshold the Bulls would have to clear another $3.5 million from their books. Their best -- albeit unlikely -- bet would be to try to find a taker for Luol Deng's enormous contract, hoping to slide LeBron James into his vacated spot.

Dumping James Johnson, Taj Gibson, Chris Richard and Rob Kurz would not generate the needed cap room -- the cap holds associated with the four vacated roster spots would consume much of the cap room that would be freed by their departure.

What about a 3 way trade with Orlando and Utah? That can get us 2 stars along with enough capspace to fill out the rest of the roster.
There was a rumor talking about a Luol Deng for Mickael Pietrus and Marcin Gortat swap. (I'm sure most of you heard of this, but I posted the link below)

Not 100% positive, but I beleive Mehmet Okur is hurt and Utah is in need of a center. What do you guys think of this trade?
Luol Deng to Orlando Magic
Gortat and Gibson to Utah
Boozer and Pietrus to Chicago

IF the Bulls get what they want, and get to meet with LeBron James last, then you would have to believe that a team with Derrick Rose, Carlos Boozer, and Joakim Noah would be enough to convince him to want to come to Chicago. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure we still have some more money to spend. At the very least enough to offer sharpshooter Anthony Morrow (who would have a rediculous amount of wide open 3 pointers to shoot)

PG: Derrick Rose
SG: Anthony Morrow // Mickael Pietrus
SF: LeBron James // James Johnson
PF: Carlos Boozer // James Johnson
C: Joakim Noah // Omer Asik

Even though Morrow, Rose, and Boozer aren't known for their defense, thats why we got Thibbs. I think that team would be very solid.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Bulls
Chris Richard and Rob Kurz aren't on the Roster.

And I would love to have Gortat here. I think he would play harder for the Bulls, just because he would have a lot of Polish media to support him when he does well, and snap on him when he sucks. His contract is no drop in the bucket though. 7-8 million, and long term. My problem is that his value might change after the new CBA. Otherwise with this CBA and cap, I think Gortat is priced right.

Trading Taj would be a serious mistake. We have 2 years left with him at a steal of a deal.

I would have to believe that either the Cavs, Raptors, or Hawks would bite at Deng + a first round pick in a sign and trade. If 2 of those 3 want to come I think we will get them. We could even take back a little salary in return.

Cavs don't want to help the Bulls. Raptors don't want another bad contract. Hawks would only be possible in a S&T for JJ AND that's not that likely.

I don't see why Toronto wouldn't be interested in Deng plus a pick. Who are they going to get to sign there that is better than Deng? They are going to have to build through the draft, which means that draft pick is very valuable.

They don't want another terrible contract. They already have enough in Turkoglu/Calderon/Bierdani.

One player, which would almost certainly be bosh if this happened. Could also take a small paycut. But if we had to get rid of Deng to get Lebron/Bosh, then drop his ass. I like him, but if he's the deal breaker drop his ass.

Bosh isn't taking any paycut. He wants that $30 million.
