If any of you know Rob Ullman http://www.rkullman.blogspot.com, he's an artist that specializes in cartoony pin-up girls. He has a cottage industry drawing women in various sports uniforms. I commissioned him to do a print of my wife wearing a Hawks jersey looking into a mirror and seeing a Whalers jersey in the reflection. The print is suppose to represent our move from Hartford to Chicago and our love for our current team while recognizing our love for our former team. For those of you who know Lynn, Rob absolutely got the likeness spot on and I'm very happy with the result.

Lynn never visits this website so even though this is a forthcoming Christmas present, she'll never know unless you tell her. So what do you think?

Thanks for the compliments everyone. By the way, the numbers on the jerseys are not an accident. As many of you know, my wife's favorite Hawk WAS at one time Wiz, but given his recent "incidents", I think she's shifted her allegiance over to Sharp. I was going to go with the #1 for the Whalers sweater (the great Mike Liut), but I didn't want people to think the #1 was symbolic in any way as our preference of Hartford over Chicago, so I asked Rob to put the #5 on there. Again, I might have gone #10 for Hartford as well (Ron Francis), but I thought two #10's would have looked stupid. For those who don't know, #5 belonged to Ulf Samuelsson, the nastiest SOB to ever lace up the skates in a Hartford uniform.

Was a serious heavy hitter on D, remember watching him play.....as a amtter of fact wasn't the SOB on the Pens team that knocked our boys off for the Cup in 91??? He's an assistant with Tippet in Phoenix now.

That would be the one. Worst trade in Hartford history that indirectly led to the team's move in 1997

Ron Francis, Ulf Samuelsson and Grant Jennings for...

Zarley Zalapski, John Cullen and Jeff Parker. Ouch. I still cringe when I think of that deal.
