Tell me what you guys think:

With the way everything is going it seems like we will end up amnestying Boozer.
So with that in mind, this is what I think that will happen or what should happen

We amnesty Boozer who is approx in the area of 14m-15m in contract worth.
Then we will or should pick up Carmelo Anthony for a couple mil less than the contract he has with the Knicks. Maybe 19-20m
After that, we should pick up Luis Scola from the Pacers who is a solid player for how much his contract is worth.
If we are lucky, we may get Dante Exum with our high pick in the draft, or try to trade up for him.

So is this is how it's going to pan out?

No. That is not the scenario. Here is what we are looking at:

FA: Nikolas Mirotic 4-years/$30M
DJ Augustin 2-years/$3M
Kirk Hinrich 1-year/vet min

18th overall pick: TJ Warren, SG, NC State
21th overall pick: Willie Cauley-Stein, C, Kentucky

5 Joakim Noah
4 Taj Gibson
3 Mike Dunleavy Jr
2 Jimmy Butler
1 Derrick Rose/DJ Augustin

6 Nikolas Mirotic
7 Tony Snell
8 Willie Cauley-Stein
9 TJ Warren
0 Kirk Hinrich

We'll win 48 games, get eliminated in the 2nd round, and continue on our cycle of mediocrity.

Nah, we won't even get Mirotic or even someone as potentially good as Cauley-Stein. We'll win 37 games after Rose destroys himself for the 4th straight season sending desperate fans into masses of outrage that will eventually drive him out of Chicago (where of course he will become a superstud again immediately upon a change of location), still make the playoffs, and be a step below mediocre. :elephant:

:troll:

But actually though, it's possible we don't get Mirotic and keep Boozer into the beginning of next year with the hopes of using his huge salary as a trade piece since it'll be an expiring.

theres a huge possibility we dont get Nikola next year

hes making 4m now and his buyout 3m....we'd have to pay him 7 or 8 mill so it would cover his current salary and the buyout

Why don't people understand that just because we amnesty Boozer, we can't just use that money to sign another max contract guy?

The Bulls will have about 48 million dollars still on the books in the off-season!

Because in fantasy land the salary cap balloons to whatever it needs to be so that we can do that :smug:

We don't need max cap space. Lebron is signing for the MLE.

Club, no to Carmelo, represent! Do not want. Coughlin's Law: "Anything else is always something better." Not always true, but in the case of Melo, :yep:
