I don't understand trading Hinrich or Deng and a first round pick for cap space...is that expiring contracts or what?

Hou, you can't trade Deng for a brad Miller deal or a shaq type deal. As Po3 said, you have to trade hin for a non guarnteed deal for a player with this upcoming season as a player option or trade him to someone like the rumored clippers deal where we commence the deal after the draft and essentially gain instant cap space because we take nothing back and they are under the cap.

you could trade him to a team under the cap. i think delonte wests contract is non guaranteed.
