He would be ok I guess:shrug:
Why would he choose us over Brooklyn, though?
Maybe because he's a Chicago native?

I grew up watching Nazr on the 1996 and 1998 National Championship teams at Kentucky. Hope he can give the Bulls some solid play off the bench.

I wouldn't mind the acquisition at all. Rather pay him the vet's minimum than give Asik $5 million for the next few years, then that horrible escalator clause.

Also, a fun JosMin fact -- My mom who is a florist and has owned her business since 1987, did the flowers and coordinated two current NBA players' weddings. One is Nick Collison (who I met). The other? Nazr Mohammed.

Good move. We should go after Jamaal Magloire too.

Something that might be acceptable to say in 2005.

Nazr is a good option for a year. He won't have to play much. He is still a very good defender and can actually do some scoring around the basket...Asik couldnt even catch the ball cleanly.

Good signing & someone I expected to come here once it was clear Asik would not be matched. Solid pro, with good defense & good locker room presence.

Championship lulz. Hinrich, Radmanovich, and Mohammed. The new big 3.

But in all seriousness, he can at least catch the ball. Something Asik might never learn. That's about all old Nazr can do better than Asik though. Actually...he can shoot free throws much better too.

He hits the midrange 15-footer with good accuracy, something none of our bigs other than Boozer can do. That's a big plus.

Yeah I figured that looking at his free throw percentage. For a minimum contract, he's alright. I'd rather have him at 873k than Asik at 5M.

That's a solid way of looking at. The thing with Nazr is he doesn't have to be a big offensive thread, if he makes an open shot the defense has to at least guard him and it opens up the offense because the other center can't lay back in the lane. With Asik, three feet from the basket there's no reason to guard him at all because he's absolutely no threat.
