I'm happy with this hire. I would have been happy with it two years ago. Kinda makes the Vinny thing a huge waste of time. Oh well.

Phase 1 complete. Thibs will bring our D back to Skiles-levels & apparently he's not so shabby on offensive strategy either. If Cheeks & Adams are brought on, we could end up a top 3 defensive team next season.

Exactly. Makes no sense why they didn't even interview him 2 years ago. And why would you possibly wait for the Hornets to take him before even interviewing him...why give them the chance?

I have no confidence in the Bulls Management and I wanted Thibodeau 2 years ago also. But this has to be good news because they got the man they wanted. I also think that Lebron doesn't want to be the GM of a team like everyone else thinks. He wants to have confidence in management and just worry about playing. The Bulls have hired one of the best candidates out their and the coach that put the clamps on James in the playoffs this year. I think LBJ respects Thibby and will look highly upon the organization for bringing him in.

I agree on the getting him two years ago. However the timing might work out better for us, he's got an even better reputation now and hiring him this off season is probably a good PR move for free agency. If he'd been hired two years ago and was just a guy with a mediocre record we wouldn't have that.

As far as the Hornets go, I assume he'd expressed interest in the Bulls and said he'd wait for us before making a decision, and the Hornets were OK with that. I mean the Hornets were waiting for him up until we interviewed him, presumably after the interview he told them he was going after the Bulls job.

I thought he was the best option for an assistant coach. I know last year they really wanted to focus on defense and imo i really didnt see that big of an improvement except with noah more noticebly so i can see why the Bulls chose this guy. I hope he has that fire in him like Skiles did when he was coaching our team, hopefully we do get better defensively as I think we will this year, cannot wait for the season to start. Now to wait for free agency. I think if the Cavs dont sign someone for their coaching position before July 1st we might be even more of a position to get Lebron since they wouldnt have a coach yet in place.

Tom Thibodeau was the right hire. Good job by the Bulls front office.

I am ecstatic at this news! Finally, Bulls made a decisive move for the future of the franchise and I feel it is the right one. I too wanted us to go after Thibs two years ago, but Boston's Phoenix(the mythical bird, not the Western conf. team)like rise just confirms it in my mind. I think this makes a strong statement to prospective free agents on our direction. Take heed Lebron! Take heed...

I really like this hire. Since we were not going after Byron Scott and JVG, for whatever reason, this was the next best choice in my opinion. Although I agree we should have hired him two years ago, you have to admit it worked out better this way. Thib has more hype now and that is needed going into July 1st to attract a FA.

I am ecstatic about that coaching staff though. The fact that we are rumored to have Mo Cheeks, Ron Adams and Pippen as assistants is awesome. Mo Cheeks was being considered as HC, so he will be a nice backup if Thib doesn't work out. I don't think I could be much happier about this coaching staff outside of hiring PJ. This offseason is starting to fall into place.

If he's as responsible for the Celtics defense as they say, these last two games in Boston make me very excited to see what he can do with the Bulls. They've made the Lakers offense look awful.
