Fukudome (200)
Lillibridge (190)
Morel (178)
Beckham (153)
Escobar (150)

And then these guys are dangerously close to batting under 200:

Viciedo (206)
Alexei (207)

Then there are these guys:

Dunn (231)
De Aza (247)

And then...

AJ (309), Rios (311), and PK (383) are the only ones hitting well.

What a gap between AJ (309) and the next best hitter, De Aza (247)!

OBP is better, right? Nope.

Fukudome (280)
Lillibridge (238)
Morel (221)
Beckham (231)
Escobar (176)

Viciedo (200)
Alexei (233)

Dunn (352) ... yay!
De Aza (315) ... too low for a lead-off guy

AJ (371), Rios (367), and PK (444).

This is not a division-winning formula. Can't rely on 3-4 guys all year to get it done. At least they have pitching.

really hard to look at statlines one month in. the abs are in too small of a quanity. the only concern is morel, his atbats are putrid and shows no signs of coming out of that. one 4/4 day will spike all batters ba thats just how it is 22 games in. if its july you have to worry

Morel doesnt concern me nearly as much as Beckham, Beckham looks as though he has no idea what to do as a baseball player

Lillibridge (190)
Morel (178)
Beckham (153)
Escobar (150)

Escobar is a rookie utility infielder, his situational hitting is what is important

Lillibridge is the same situation, except for the rookie part

Morel had to much pressure as the #2 hitter. As the #2 hitter he batted .140 striking out in 20 out of 43 ABs. as the #8 hitter he has batted .233, not much better but he has struck out only 6 of 30 ABs, an improvement. and hes hit in 8 of his last 10 games. The development of a Major Leaguer continues past his rookie season.

Beckham sucks balls

And then these guys are dangerously close to batting under 200:

Viciedo (206)
Alexei (207)

Alexei throughout his career has been a slow starter, Viciedo had a slow spring, hopefully he can turn it around, but he wouldnt be the first bust ever ... I'm looking at you Gordon Beckham.

Then there are these guys:

Dunn (231)
De Aza (247)

I dont think anybody expects Dunn to hit with a better average than that. As long as he keeps hitting Homers .230ish is wheres he gonna be.

I agree you'd like De Aza to be higher, but he has had solid games and I'm OK with him as the leadoff hitter

And then...

AJ (309), Rios (311), and PK (383) are the only ones hitting well.

What a gap between AJ (309) and the next best hitter, De Aza (247)!

I'd say Dunn is hitting well, doing his job hitting homers also De Aza overall has done well too.

This is not a division-winning formula. Can't rely on 3-4 guys all year to get it done. At least they have pitching.

Small sample sizes at this point in the year, Its hard to make judgements this early in the season.

Regardless of where Morel bats, he blows ass with the stick.
