Another solid move. This team could compete for a WC spot this year if our pitching is solid, defense improves and our hitters are better and can get timely hits. I'm kind of excited for ST. IMO need a solid catcher, solid RHP starter. Maybe Paulino solves that but is rarely healthy. Give me a nice young catcher and I'm ready for ST.

I dont want to say its not possible, but I think your excitement may be getting the better of you. I'll be happy with 500 ball this year. With a few more aquisitions next year then it could get real interesting. Which would be one hell of a turn around for Hahn. Great job so far though thats for sure.

I still dont know how beckham dunn and alexei will be this year. Pitching may be a problem on the back end of the rotation. Arrow is still pointing up none the less.

Playoffs might be wishful thinking this year. I'd be satisfied with 3rd place or better in the Central.

Kinda of a high whip and not too dominant of a K guy. He's a poor man's Thorton I suspect. Good piece to be flipped to a contender for an orgs 10-15 ranked prospect. Worth the shot for sure now that I look at it.

hes more crafty than thornton. can mix pitches better. doesnt have his strength but its not always about the radar gun.

I hear ya. He has his positives. I just see him as a lower version of Matt. (FWIW I am excluding the times Thorton was in a closing situation which was an absolute disaster)

Downs keeps pitching well while Thornton has been in decline for awhile.

I dunno. His numbers look like he's had some luck involved with the WHIP he has. He got a one year deal while Matt got a two. I'm good either way and really think they will flip him at the break if he pitches well.
