Spotify just launched in the US. It's pretty sweet. Right now you need an invite to use the free service, but you can get on without it by doing the membership version, which I think is worth it. Unlimited songs and the ability to make any of them available offline. Only drawback of being offline is that you have to play them through the Spotify app. It has the largest music library of any of the music services.

It's mainly about the ability to easily create and share playlists. There's a pretty cool site called spotibot.com that can recommend music and playlists to you based on an artist you put in or if you have a last.fm account.

There's a lot of other sites out there too where you can find playlists and what not. Sharing music via spotify is where it separates itself from other music services, especially with it's recent integration into facebook.

Do you know if there is anything that can take my likes and dislikes from Pandora? So basically I have to spend a bunch of time entering music into the system before I can start getting recommendations and songs back that I like? I won't have too much time to play with it today but it's a very interesting idea to me, one that I don't fully understand (the whole concept of how it works that is)

Kind of but not really. If you have a last.fm account you can set it up to scrobble automatically to your last.fm account. What that does is if you listen to a certain percentage of a song (like 80%) it marks it as a song you've listened to and will save it. You can use those songs to recommend other music via that spotibot.com site. There are plugins likely coming in the future that will integrate this more into spotify as it moves forward. Someone also created a plugin that also works with your last.fm account where you can like songs or ban them, but unfortunately the plugin is only for mac os.

That sucks, I have a feeling when everyone figures it out and the lightbulb clicks in the general public, this will be the ap of the future for music people.
