First off, that depth chart means nothing.

Second, I think Stalberg is a very versatile forward. Is he a top 6 forward? He certainly hasn't shown that he can consistently be one yet. I think we will see him on every single line at some point this year - he can fill in for injuries and he actually played his role pretty well when he got moved down to the top 6. A valuable player in many ways, even if he isn't a top 8 forward on this team.

Bickell >>>>>>>>> Stalcrap.

Alright, quality post.

However, Bickell played very well with Bolland/Frolik on the "third" line in the postseason last year. Those three seem to be lined up together in training camp quite often.

A 3rd line like that is beyond valuable - Bolland is great defensively, Frolik is a hound on the backcheck, and Bickell finally started to use his size/snarl a little bit more last year. Toss in the fact that all of them are very solid offensively for "third line" guys...and I love it. If we can neutralize a 1st line with our 3rd line, all while popping a goal or two...that is going to be deadly. We all saw it before this last year and that is some great depth, something the Hawks lacked big time last year.

Yes.

Their play at the trail end of the Canucks series gave me flashbacks to 2009's fantastic 3rd line of Havlat Bolland and Ladd.

A shutdown line that can score like that? Yes please.

^^^ I mean, sure Bickell or Frolik might make the second line better (and I do think each will play on the second line at some point) but they make our third line so much better, while we don't lose a whole lot on the second line because of the other two guys. The third line is a complete 3 man effort.
