Here we are after 5 months of lockout freetime, plentty of time to plan.
It seems that Hamilton is Paxs only move for the season...I'm not complaining, and we have just as good of a team as last year "the same"...but I can't lie about being a little didsappointed that Hamilton is the best Pax can do knowing that one more significant piece puts us over the top.....We should be a playoff team this season, but we are not a championship caliber team when compared to some of the super teams out there...
Unless Hamilton skinny dipped in the fountain of youth, I don't see him making that huge of an impact but a slight improvement at 2guard..We improve at that position but lose depth in the front court bench losing Thomas who happened to play a major roll for us....And Pax did nothing to replace him.....All we can hope for is that Asik steps up more this season......other than Paxson being a Sitting Bull and not really improving our team, we should have a decent team again, BUT when will Pax bring in a major significant piece and how will he do it if he does??????
Thoughts???

I'm perfectly fine with the Bulls only acquisition is Rip. I wish Big Sexy could've stayed around, but I like what Asik brings & he'll only be improving. This same team had some close games with MIA in the ECF and we'll only get better from last yr (so will they unfortunately). I'd much rather have Rip at the 2 than force someone else there just because everyone says we need to.

Praying for no tripping over gym bags or any other type of injuries this year. I like what this team can bring. We only have 3 players 30+ yrs old too (Korver's 30, Boozer's 30, Rip's 33), which is damn good imo.

IF Pax decides to make a significant move, it'll have to include Noah/Boozer/Deng/draft picks in some form. No thank you.

No it won't....it would only require using the new rule where you can drop one of your players salary off the cap by cutiing them....Then all Pax has to do is give the Chinese basketball league five hundred thousand and he can sign Smith without giving up one single core player.....

I´m pretty pleased with the FO.

Bulls have by far the best bench. I know we lost Kurt Thomas, who has been our backup backup. But we also added a promising backup at SF with Jimmy Butler.

Hamilton is an upgrade at SG without a doubt.

It´s ok not to trade for a second superstar and give up almost your whole team for it. It´s not gonna work, look at NYC! Basketball is a team sports and you need more than 3 star players to win.

All in one this team should be better than last season and that is what makes me looking forward to the season!

I GUESS I HAVE TO REPEAT MYSELF AGAIN......WE DO NOT HAVE TO GIVE UP ANY OF OUR CORE TO GET THAT SIGNIFICANT STAR PLAYER......ONLY FIVE HUNDRED THOUSAND (which is pocket change in nba) TO CHINA WILL RELEASE JR SMITH AND THEN WE CAN SIGN HIM WHICH WILL MAKE US ATHLETICALLY AS GOOD AS MIAMI..

Yeah, I hope they find a formidable replacement for KT. :beerbang:

Do you really think Chicago has any chance to sign him???

There are more teams interested in him for sure and the Bulls don´t have any more money to spend.

A backup big man is more important now than J.R. Smith!

SAMUEL DALEMBERT IS AVAILABLE AND WON'T BE THAT EXSPENSIVE...would be a decent replacement for thomas....just a suggestion.

and not a bad one either. I'm just afraid they will agree to a one year deal with Pryzbilla. Dude really can't play that well anymore plus the the past injuries worry me. I don't care whether he plays 5 minutes or the whole game. A wasted slot on the team doesn't help us in getting better options in.

I can't stand Pryzbilla...he is pure trash..

If Pax wastes one dollar on him,, I will spit up blood.

Wallace is retired still I believe. Doubt it highly he'd come back.

J.R. Smith is NOT A STAR PLAYER...and if he was that important, he would be over here by now. He is a good player who has many of the skills I want to see on the team, but he would be the 4th best player on the team at best if he joined...

To be fair any sg we were looking to sign was going to be the fourth or even fifth best player on the team. Unless we traded for a legit sg. Id rather have smith for less money than Crawford

I've said this before -- we already had JR Smith, and we traded him in 10 days. I don't want him. I'm fine with Rip. Would've rather had Jason Richardson, but to me, he was the second best option.

I agree 100% that we need to find another big man to plug in for bench time outside of Asik and Gibson. My only real concern is that several teams in the East got substantially better, while the Bulls merely addressed an issue. I love the Battier signing for Miami and the Knicks, in my opinion, have leapfrogged Orlando and is now the third best team in the East, behind Miami and Chicago.

As a fan, you have to ask yourself if our team truly has the chops to make the leap this year or is our squad too close to last year's. At this juncture, all we can do is hope.
