According to a report from Dominican newspaper El Caribe, Cubs shortstop Starlin Castro has been arrested after a nightclub shooting that left six people injured. Castro's arrest comes three weeks after his agent said he had been cleared of involvement in a previous Dominican nightclub shooting.

The incident occurred early Saturday morning at Ocean Club, a nightclub in the Dominican coastal town of Montecristi, where Castro was born. The fracas reportedly involved Castro's brother and bodyguards, as well as a group of men including the driver and assistant to Montecristi's mayor:

According to reports, Castro's bodyguards stripped [the assistant] of a 12-gauge shotgun, which was recovered by police in the bushes next to the nightclub.

Including Castro, seven people in total were detained by police.

Hopefully they find out more very soon. The specifics are pretty important here

Well... two incidents in a month's time.

Even if he is cleared of this one, he needs to find better people to hang out with.

ESPN Deportes is calling it being "detained for questioning" which sounds better than "arrested for a shooting"

but yeah, he needs new friends or a new hobby

from Jon Morosi of Fox Sports/MLB Network.....

Starlin Castro's agent, Paul Kinzer, said his client "had nothing to do" with the shooting and was never detained by authorities.

Kinzer on Castro: "Voluntarily, he went in and talked with them [the local authorities]. It wasn’t like he was taken in for questioning."

Kinzer said Starlin Castro is home in Monte Cristi now. "According to him, the police have video showing he wasn't involved," he said.

I would have to say this seems like it has little to do with him. He has the name so the reporters are going to push his name over anything

Is this a case of Castro being in the wrong place and hanging with a bad group, or is he some kind of Dominican drug warlord in the off-season's?

Either way, it's stupid!

there is no debate. The Cubs are cursed as **** man. Have you ever watched a ninth inning at Wrigley? Over the last 20 years I have seen the Cubs lose 9th inning day games more ways than you think are possible, because they will find a new way to lose. I would never build a team there without a bullpen like the Royals. You need to be able to hold leads....damn man. Shits crazy. Its not even a question....what can go wrong will go wrong. Its the definition of a curse and its so obvious it can't be disputed.

The swirling drama and reporters just feels like the Grim Reaper putting out little traps, the traps are swirling around. Its a matter of time before somebody on a big contract has an arm fall off, a shoulder blow up, or to go through mental challenges of unknown origins and enter into a funk. Castro might already be ruined by the Cubs, he is now a veteran that will always play like a rookie Puig and make bone head errors and be dumb off the field.

They probably trade him? no? I think his value if he has a positive year surpasses his headache in terms of 100,000,000 contracts. Better to divest from him.

I've always said pro athletes should have a fall back career. They can't play forever.

I never once heard the word "curse" used when discussing the White Sox.

"Suck" was used a lot.

It very well could be time to take on a curse head on, Even curses can be overcome by great Men! Warriors, leading the way into a new realm..... one that has the Norseman, the playoff caliber, the contender .... who said that? :dunno: I think I said that!

Regardless of any of the nonsense in this thread.

Castro needs to distance himself from this group of people he has been associating himself with.

Stop trying to be Johnny Manziel of the DR... and stay home reading a book.
