As long as he gets less than 5 years we don't really need him

Sounds like this woman "forgot" about being sexually assaulted, then suddenly remembered.

In other words, total bull shit.

From our Facebook page and I'll repost it here as my opinion:

I would prefer this not to be true but if it is, it is a serious matter and he should be prosecuted to the extent of the law. However this shouldn't preclude him from playing in MLB once he serves out his punishment. Depends on how forgiving the Cubs and MLB would be as that will affect what uniform he wears should this be true.

I would also caution everyone to reserve judgment against either Castro or the alleged victim until all the facts are known.

If Castro did do it, the bigger story isn't that we lose one of our rising stars but that someone got hurt and violated. Life > baseball and this is someone's life we are talking about. Same with Castro if the allegations are false. Even if exonerated, as some have suggested, he's going to have his reputation tarnished for a long time.

Just my perspective.

Good Luck getting him to come back from the Dominican Republic anytime soon.

What are the U.S Extradition treaties like with the Dominican.

He's supposed to be at the Cubs Convention. This should get interesting. If he's smart and wants to show he's innocent he comes back voluntarily and submits to the questioning in the presence of an attorney. We'll see what happens.

Hard to tell if it's true or not, Women try and pull this kind of thing for money all the time. But on the other hand we've seen athlete's can be pretty aggressive, like Ben Roethlisberger.

Very true. You hope it's false, but you never know these days.

From what I saw it "happened" in the fall..

So just now she comes out with it.

Sorry but 9/10 if it doesn't come out within a month its someone thinking they can get money or fame or something..

This is what I think of any person trying to do this in these situations. Not just sports related etc.

When it comes out and when she reports it are two different things. Plus wouldn't you try and milk a rich man not a future rich guy? That gives her stray some cred

Anything as it says "police were contacted. Castro was already out of the Country for the off-season"

That can be months of a time frame..

plus most of the time when we are talking high profile people in society it usually comes out a shitload quicker (if it was reported in the fall to the cops)

Just saying.. I've literally dealt with women just looking for money.. This is pretty sketchy if you ask me.

Or maybe the gold-digger doesn't know anything about baseball besides the fact that Starlin Castro is a beast, and therefore doesn't know shit about his salary. With that said, he has made over a million in his MLB career as well as in the minors, going to ($460,000x4 + $640,000x2 not exact numbers, but close enough): 1,840,000 + 1,280,000 = $3,020,000.

That gives her story no cred it all. She's not famous (I still don't know her name) and she can't pick and choose which athlete she chooses to keep company...if any athlete approached her, money is going to be the first thing that crosses her mind, not "yeah's he's good but he's a young guy in the Cubs system that had a lot of errors last season. I think I'll see what Pujols is doing instead."
