So, here is the story of my day so far. I woke up yesterday with an ear ache. Managed the pain all day and when I woke up at 3 in the A.M. realized my ear is completely fucked. It feels like knifes are going in and out of me ear and into my jaw. So, I decide to go the first urgent care open.
I find a place that has a 7 A.M. urgent care. The sign scrolling says we take walk ins. I walk in. Sign in. There is one other man there. The nurse goes we are short staffed today. We are not taking walk ins. I look around and ponder how that 7 A.M. rush was to much for them to handle. I pass by 20 minutes later. Still the same one guy there. So, I find another one that opens at 8. I am in extreme pain and I am pretty much pissed off at this present time.
I go there. Im the first one there of course. They are nice enough. They bring me in the back. Take my blood pressure on my forearm because they only have one cuff. Im a bigger guy that needs the bigger cuff. Well, my blood pressure reads like stroke level. The doctor comes in and says they need to take it again. I said, "Look, I get nervous when I take blood pressure. Always have. I am also in throbbing pain and pissed off. I am also stressed and you took the blood pressure from my forearm. I am no doctor, but I have been told by one that a forearm reading is not accurate." She goes, ok, let me look in your ear. She goes "oh, I dont need to do anything else I can see it is completely swollen shut. She leaves. She comes back in and starts talking about the blood pressure. She goes by the way, I wrote you antibiotic for your ear. Thats it. Nothing else. I understand her concern for my blood pressure, but how about you connect the dots on why it was shooting high. So, now, I am sitting here with a throbbing ear that antibiotics work in how many days with nothing for the pain. I hope my blood pressure is real and it takes me out. **** the medical field.
