Unbelievable. They are saying it was an E4 tornado, which has winds up to 166 MPH.

Looks bigger than an E4 but I guess the experts will tell us.

This looks worse than the E5 in Plainfield.

The pictures I saw would agree. You see brick homes and concrete structures completely leveled down to the foundation. It takes some serious destruction to do that.

Tornado went just a few miles south of here but I have debris in my yard from miles away.

Pieces of houses. Found some carpet padding, part of a wall, section of gutter that seems to be inside out.

Eerie.

2010 tornado went right through town but didn't leave debris like this.

I haven't heard anything about missing people and injuries/deaths. I just hope everyone is ok. Saw the storm coming in last night on the radar and knew it was going to be bad.

Reporting in, we are fine in Belleville. No damage at my house. The EF4 down here landed and did damage about 50 miles east in New Mindon and Nashville, IL. Aside from heaving winds we had little to no realization that the weather was so violent.

There are pieces of insulation all around town. In the fields around town there are pieces of sheet metal and such every hundred feet or so. My boss found a Washington HS sweater in his yard. I found a cookbook cover in my yard. Washington is like 50 miles away. ****!
That cookbook cover gets me. That's not like siding or a gutter, that was in someone's fucking kitchen miles and miles away!
5 miles north and my stuff would be 50 miles NE of here.
Fucking close enough for me! Whew!

EF 4 has winds up to 200 MPH. That'll relocate a house right quick. It is fascinating what travels and how far. You don't really think about that when you see these things on TV. That cookbook cover would be pretty eerie. Many years ago there was a tornado that hit some town in Wisconsin. Someone found a bed a few miles from the house it was in. While odd, what was stranger was the bed was still made with dry cleaning that had been placed on it minutes before the thing destroyed the house, still in the bag.

Lots more debris on our disc golf course.
More siding, shingles, stuff like that.
Kicking part of someone's house out of my way for footing.
This sucks.
A friend of mine a couple towns over just got back home and power back on.
They lost a bunch of food so I am giving him and family the turkey that work is giving me.
I don't like turkeys anyway!
Also sending along with my underling at work that lives a block away some nice fresh roasted and hand ground coffee.

It is more than just being blown from one place to the next. The crazy part is that the vortex sucks the objects upward, keeps them aloft at several hundred feet off the ground and literally carries them miles and miles away (at least in this instance).

That is definitely the proper amount of suction!
