When the Bulls began their seven-game road trip earlier this week, the hope was that power forward Carlos Boozer (broken right hand) would be ready to go when they return home in early December.

Now it's looking like that might be a little ambitious, if not unrealistic.

''I'm getting the doctor's advice,'' Boozer said Friday before the Bulls played the Dallas Mavericks. ''He wants me to wait until the eight-week mark [before practicing with contact], and I'm trying to listen to him and at the same time listen to my body. I'm trying to wait until the eight-week mark to have full-contact practice, but I'm starting to get a little anxious.''

IN BRIEF: Hand signals suggest Boozer won't be ready when trip ends :: CHICAGO SUN-TIMES :: Bulls

I'd rather do without him for a couple more games than rush him back and have him break it again and be out another two months.

We need a healthy Boozer, not a half injured/liable to be injured again Boozer. Let Taj do his thing until Booz is fully healthy, then take the league by storm. Hopefully, he gets healthy real fast though, because we do need him quite badly out there.

I think this is what a lot of people are thinking, because this is what I'm thinking.

This is news? Common sense told me that he wont be ready by the end of this trip.

Stay thirsty my friends.

--The road slows down now, but it won't get any easier. After spending three off days in Los Angeles, the Bulls will begin a stretch of four games in five nights against the Lakers on Tuesday. Games at Phoenix, Denver and Sacramento finish the road trip.

By Dec. 10, the Bulls will be done with the Lakers, Oklahoma City and Denver. They'll have played six of the eight Western Conference playoff teams from last year on the road and made both trips to Boston.

After the Lakers visit the United Center on Dec. 10, 17 of the Bulls' next 18 games are against teams that were .500 or worse through Friday's action
_______________

right around the time booz is coming back (hopefully) so he can work his way back to game speed against some softer comp then when the big boys roll into town or we have to make a trip later hes ready to get down

I agree, its not like the ship is sinking, we are doing well. Let him get 100%. No need to rush him.
