Switching Hosts

Guys, please be advised that we will be switching hosts sometime in the next 24 hours (likely tonight'ish).

We are moving to a more reliable host, as we want to prepare for the NFL Draft traffic. We want to get the site to the point where, during big games, it loads the same as if there were 20 people on the site. That is what we're about to move to.

So any important/long/thoughtful posts, copy/paste because they may be lost in the transition to the new server tonight.

When free agency hit, the influx of traffic slowed the site to a snails' crawl and then we had a lot of people blocked from the site through a mess-up during that period.

If you wish to help, you're welcome to donate via the button on the top of the site. Anything is appreciated, we're going to get this place fast as hell on gamedays. That should encourage more posting as well. It has been the past couple of days but, we really want to be comfortable by the time an influx hits, instead of scrambling to fix.

If you've already donated and wish to again, you can do it in another posters name to give them donator status.

I wonder if the comcast people(who don't use an alternate DNS server on their own) are having issues, like we had before.

can't even view the site on my computer. "firefox can't find the server". my isp here at school is mediacom. how long does it usually take for isp's get their shit together and I'll be able to get on the site from my computer?

DNS's propagate quick. But in some cases, it could take a few days and that is all out of our control.

When you get home, peek at openDNS or googleDNS settings. They are 3rd party DNS servers that are pretty handy to have setup for "lazy" ISP's.

Also put the newest version of the chatbox you guys liked. DBT shout is better for resources and features. So I understand why. I like the other one better, but that's just me.

My ISP is Mediacom and it works for me

Shoutbox settings appear on my settings page, but the shoutbox doesn't appear. Nor do I see any settings to make it visible/invisible myself.

EDIT: It's not blocked by adblock either.
