I purchased a tablet last week and it will be delivered tomorrow to our local BB store. I went there with the intention of buying an Ipad2 but ended up purchasing the Acer tabler instead. I like the Acer because it has a USB port and is fully compatible with my office computer. I also have Verizon as my phone provider and currently use a Droid phone which I like. The Acer also uses the Android operating system.

I am not a techy so any thoughts or suggestions is helpful here. The other nice benefit was that the Acer was $350 after an instore gift card which I used to buy a screen protector and carrying/ display case. I will be using this mostly for internet access and word documents while out of my office and in my home which has Wi-Fi.

I'd love to help you, I am totally with the times when it comes to PC/Laptop technology, but when it comes to gadgets, I've never left 1995. I have a phone that is capable of making phone calls and texting, nothing else and an MP3 player, thats the extent of my gadget collection.

I have an iPad2. It's actually my wifes. I like it, but I wish it were more open. The lack of flash is frustrating but the industry seems to be moving that way, as Windows 8 has announced they won't support flash on their portable devices (ie Windows 8 tablet).

If I were to buy a tablet for myself I would go with an android based one as they are able to play more music and movie formats, can play flash, and are easier to plug and play with other devices. Amazon is announcing their new tablet soon (tomorrow I think) and it will likely be priced better than all of the competition.

My favorite teams
  1. Portland Timbers
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
My Bro's wife has an acer model--I'm not sure which one but I think he installed a custom OS on it. My wife wants to move to one when her laptop dies.

I'm not personally sure about them since I like my computerized electronics like my cars. I will sacrifice small, sleek design if I can do with larger raw power.

They are trying to kill flash with HTML 5, I don't think it will work, but it's definitely nice for those not running it. I love WebOS, it's almost open source in the things you can do with it. But it is what it is right now with no backing and lack of support on the software side. Little things that could be fixed would make it reign supreme.

In all honesty. I don't think there is really any tablets that justify the ridiculous prices. But at the firestorm prices I couldn't resist. If the industry was smart and went the way of the video game and took a hit on the hardware to get the back-end of the apps, they'd be much more prevalent. The contracts for the 3g/4g on them are getting dumb. I wish they had a table that you could register to any mobile account instead of being locked in to certain tablets on certain providers. I don't really have that problem as Touchpads are only wi-fi at this time.

There are SEVERAL players in the running for that coveted sweater!

Yes, but that nickname has special, symbolic meaning and history between me and that Grade A a-hole Mass so I don't care about the other candidates.

NOT FAIR! My slurs to you would be considered hate speech instead of loving endearment.

Awwww. You could always try to sac up and play against Klemm between the opposing pipes and then that way you could use your mask to visually pay slur tribute to me---get a badass burning cross or maybe a noose done on it.

I bought my kids cheap Acer laptops 2 years ago for Xmas. 1 of 3 needed a new hard drive after 1 year, which Acer shipped to me at no cost under warranty, otherwise no complaints.

Not a huge fan of Acer products at all. IHF did you purchase the extended warranty? I would reccommend it if you haven't. And not the store extended warranty, the MFR one.

Then get your ass out to the game. At the very least, donate to the cause.
