Tagging Posters

I think it would be a nice feature if we could tag a poster in a thread and it would show up to them in their notifications. I.e. if I said Xuder O'Clam or BearMick they'd get a notification that they were mentioned in a post. Or if I said HHM he'd get flowers sent to his grave stone. Can we incorporate a tagging system?

I remember a forum I was on where if someone quoted your post or "thanked" it, you'd get a notification.

I thought that was pretty neat. Often times when I post, I kind of forget about it. Then I check the thread like a week later and see that a couple of people quoted me and I never responded because I forgot to go back and check.

My mistake. Someone makes a post about it every other week in the "What would you like to see thread".

I think this is a good idea, although I will say that if you have the Talkatap app on your phone, you can get notifications in this manner.

So you link to a standalone thread that is closing in on being six months old to support your statement that this request is made bi-weekly in the "What would you like to see weekly" thread? Lol, what?

Maybe in future versions of the software. Right now the hack that exist for it is a huge resource leak. I tried to get a "tagging system" going before, and all it did was double the loads.
