Well my friends I have decided to take the next step with my girlfriend. I went and bought a 1 carat diamond ring and will be popping the question mid July. Haven't decided how to do it yet but I'm a pretty creative guy. If you all have any suggestions throw them out there!

Return that ring I hope you didn't pay retail price for, and buy her one of those foam "You're #1" hand signs....just kidding, congrats. My best advice would be not to plan it at all, make it spontaneous.

Congrats man, I just got engaged yesterday actually so good luck.

Our first date was at a nice chinese restaurant and we kept all of our fortunes from the fortune cookies over the years. So when we got chinese yesterday, I went by the place earlier that day and picked up some fortune cookies and broke the first couple but eventually inserted a custom "Will you marry me" message into her fortune cookie and then when I picked up the food later I gave her that fortune cookie when I put the food on the table.

I couldn't wait that long, I proposed the day after I got the ring.

Based on the average age of posters here I doubt you'll get many ideas....and nothing worse than getting an idea from a website....because trust me..she'll ask where you got the idea.

It was their first ever acoustic show that only radio contest winners were allowed in at Chicago Recording Studio back in 2001. I succeeded in winning 2 tickets at 2 a.m. on a weeknight. She had been a monster fan since the early-mid 90s--I mean, besides me, this was her passion. Even now, many moons later, she's still adores 311 and we're both fans. So, a couple of weeks before the show, I contacted the band to work something out for a fun proposal, but was told I couldn't because these things were scripted so tight. So, I did it my way right after the musical part of the show but before the "meet-and-greet" part of the show.
