Congrats to Dale for being recognized.

The Blackhawks will open their 2010-11 home schedule on Saturday, Oct. 9, against the Detroit Red Wings, raising the Stanley Cup banner that night.

The home opener comes two days after the Oct. 7 regular season opener at Colorado.

The NHL will release the Hawks' full schedule on Tuesday.

Meanwhile, Hawks president John McDonough confirmed on Monday former general manager Dale Tallon would get his name on the Stanley Cup and receive a ring.

Tallon, now the GM in Florida, spent most of the Hawks’ championship season as a senior advisor.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago White Sox
  1. Chicago Fire
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
Do the Panthers come to town this year? If so, what a PERFECT time to honor the job that Dale Tallon did here by presenting his SC ring to him in a pregame ceremony at the UC. It would be a terrific "hatchet burrying" gesture by McD et al.

There's plenty of time for a grass roots campaign to influence the powers-that-be to make this happen. I'll be sending the Hawks a note tonight b

Wednesday March 23rd - I'm sure he will get the ring before then, but it would be a nice gesture to recognize him, which I'm sure thery will do with every former player that comes back with a different team next year.

In my head there is no way they honor Talon at home when he comes, they want this to be the last act they deal with him because a lot of fans are still in the dark about what went on and the longer you string Dale out there the worse it will be. If this off-season goes horrifically wrong, the last thing you want to do is toward the end of the year parade out a guy who was instrumental in winning the cup, only to show that he isn't with the team anymore.

Whoa! Y'all are throwin' down with the Texas no-limit hold 'em of kudos. It's kind of titillating to think who and WHAT is gonna be raised next!

Anyhoo, as for the organization doing right by Dale Tallon I think it's fabulous and deserves all it's laudings! Classiness and respect all wrapped up in a Stanley Cup achievement bundle. :text-bravo:

Even though I'm an ASS man, I'm always UP for a little (or a lot of) titillating.

Should give him his ring when Florida visits us next season.

McDick for Brains loves puck drop ceremonies; here's a chance for another one.

You think McNumbnuts will want to acknowledge the thorn in his side? He has tried for a year to convince people he created this team. LOL (Until LeBrun and the international press ran with the truth) If he has a Tallon ring ceremony, I might have to say he doesn't suck as bad as he usually does.

It would be too late, as someone else stated. Its too close to the 2011 playoff season to do that.

It might be done in a private ceremony elsewhere, however.
