Hawks were at the maximum number of contracts they can have. This move opens up a spot by trading a roster player for a nonroster player. Beyond that people who know more than me are going to have to step in.

paradis has been a disappointment since the draft. he and greentree were guys i thought would be something. its a trade of garbage for garbage

Greentree had hopes? I guess its an ok move to open a slot. Paradis was just a 3rd or 4th line in the AHL. Has shown signs of offense but way too inconsistent, he is a pretty heavy hitter though
