First off I think it's a good move to get it away from July 4th. People come down there because of the holiday

Five days shorter is in efforts of still having it. I recall reading the city loses money on the taste

The city should be paying the least amount possible for the event, and the vendors should bare the cost. Then we might see some profit for both sides in the full 10 day event, instead of now, only the richest can bid and the market suffers, as well as the consumers.
