I didn't owe any and am only getting a single figure tax refund. So looks like I kept more money during the year.

Did mine a few weeks ago, had an okay return actually. I expected it to be bigger based on getting married and buying a house, but at least I didn't have to pay in!

I already filed. I work in Illinois and live in Indiana, so naturally, I get dick back from Illinois while owing Indiana almost half my federal. Fucking pieces of shit. Of course, Indiana is also lowering it's corporate tax rate while increasing the tax rate on it's citizens for roads, IIRC.

Don't get it twisted, you paid in. In fact you paid too much in, and gave the government an interest free loan.

That's funny. My student loans aren't interest free.

I did mine this week with the accountant.... though I don't know that I need bother keep using an accountant.

I find it funny Federal taxes consider your State return as additional income from the prior year, so I got 220$ back from State of Illinois and on Federal return they consider that 220$ extra income.

I keep waiting for them to take Federal taxes out of my Federal tax return.... and then also consider it additional income on my taxes the following year.

My wife quit her job to finish school this summer so we had a healthy return. We had a baby a few weeks ago and she isn't starting a new job for a few more months so this years return will be pretty good too. But I'd still rather not be paying extortion money in the first place, **** the income tax

At least we know the taxes we pay are being spent wisely and efficiently.

I'm waiting for them to implement an Oxygen tax.

Gov't: For existing and breathing this year, you own $300.

I was in the military most of my life...
Always found it funny I paid taxes on my income which is paid by taxes?
They literally tax the same money multiple times.
Of course once they spend it, it becomes appropriations.

Why is that different than teachers, Police, county clerk, etc?
