Anyone ever written off hardware/software?

I work in manufacturing and have various roles at my workplace. Recently they had all employees in specific roles get forklift certified and are now slowly training everyone in-house to sign them off.

Im thinking that I could use an Ocular Rift to run Forklift Simulator 2019 for extra home training. Any hours on a machine, real or simulated would be beneficial imo. Dangerous equipment.

This could also lead to a new GPU to power these training aids. Id def only use these as 100% work related training aids. I wouldnt want to VR game game... never. Maybe Id need an entire new rig just for work training.

Doable?

Pretty sure our tax code is written expecting you to not only write these costs off, but you could inflate these numbers on your taxes if it helps boost your business via reduced tax burden.

Oops, sorry IRS I fat fingered it, I only bought 10 VR headsets but I said 100.

It's only a forklift. Not hard to figure out. Train on it for 30 min and you should be good to go.

Ive written some not questionable stuff off in the past, but not PC Hardware thatll be in a home office for work training off the clock...

Counterbalance is okay for a basic 30 minute ride, but you can never be too confident. More training is required. Those sideways extending high reaches are more than a 30 minute job. Shit is normal going left (forward) but going right (backwards) the controls reverse. Like playing old school golden eye with inverted controls. Need a simulation rig and gear to push the boundaries in an e-enviorment as not to kill someone or **** up hundred of thousands of dollars worth of shit.
