Sources tell Bruce Levine of ESPNChicago.com that teams are still asking the Cubs about Derrek Lee.

Lee turned to a trade to the Angels last month. It sounds like he wouldn't accept a trade to any team, though that is obviously subject to change. It's not known if he has been placed on waivers. The veteran first baseman is currently sidelined due to a bulging disk in his lower back.

I just don't see D-Lee allowing a trade. He loves it in Chicago, and even though he's having an off season, the fans still love him. Hopefully he stays a member of the Cubs through the end of the season, and the attitude of still fighting for this season in Lee really has been awesome to watch as a Cubs fan.

Thoughts?

I was going to post this but I decided not to. He won't get traded.

Like waldo said, he isn't getting traded. He loves being a Cub and I don't see that changing anytime soon. Hopefully he doesn't go to a division rival and hit like crazy like Vlad did against the Angels.

he might love being a cub but he isnt the same player he used to be.

plus, Vlad>Lee, Vlad is a very different player to Lee.

And i used to be a big lee fan myself. :(

Vlad may be better than Lee, but Vlad swings at anything. You could throw the ball behind him and he'd swing at it.

yeah that's the thing. he can hit pitches the lee can get too.

If its anywhere around the strike zone he can hit the ball, as for lee, he cant.

Ken_Rosenthal says
Source on DLee to #Braves. "Has legs." Names not agreed upon. Lee still must waive no-trade rights.

Lee willing to waive No-Trade Clause. Players going to Cubs if deal is made yet to be decided upon.

Realisticly, what kind of deal do you give Lee after this year though?

So what if Vlad swings at everything? He is still a good player.
Braves look to be the winners in this deal. Can't see them giving up anything that good for him.

Nope, we definitely are. We got a guy who is comparable to Chris Archer, and two guys who can be MLB relievers for a month and a half of Derrek Lee. Take out the Archer guy(Lopez) and we still win.

I don't give him a deal.
