And that is Stacey King.

Listen to this guy on ESPN Radio. http://sports.espn.go.com/stations/player?context=podcast&id=4111163

And put this in with the chat he did, and he is clearly very knowledgeable.

Neil Funk is dumbing him down on the broadcasts.

I didn't listen to this show, so I'll have to check it out, but I've heard King on ESPN 1000 pretty regularly and never thought he was too insightful. Last year before the draft he kept talking about how we should get Al Horford as if he might fall to us at #9.

Usually he just spews cliche after cliche.

My favorite teams
  1. Chicago Cubs
  1. Chicago Bulls
  2. Golden State Warriors
  1. Chicago Bears
  1. Chicago Blackhawks
I would rather fire Stacey King than Neil Funk. I would prefer that Funk goes back to radio though. He was much better on the radio. Perhaps move Swirsky would do better on TV. Also, need I remind everyone that Neil Funk was pretty much the voice of the Bulls before moving to TV. Every Bulls highlight call from the championship years is called by Funk.

stacey's really grown on me over the season. i think he's fair and offers some insight into the game.

whereas neil funk continues to grate on me like rancid cheese.

I think the biggest problem with Funk, other than he complete lack of bball knowledge, is the fact that he still calls the game like he's on the radio.

Newflash Neil: We can all see whats happening on the floor, you don't need to tell us everything that's happening too.

And if he's going to tell us what happens on the court, he should tell us what actually happens.

I hadn't heard that King interview before. Stacey sounds a lot more calm (and frankly, intelligent) than during the broadcasts.

I think it's a travesty if Funk isn't fired. I have yet to find anyone who genuially like him. I'd want a Wennington/Swirsky/King line-up if possible, though the three-headed announcer crew doesn't always work.

What's Neil call an 18 footer? A 3.

What's Neil call a shot from one inch behind the 3 point? A LOOONG 3.

Funk needs to get back on the radio. He kept himself busy when he had to describe every detail over the radio waves. There wasn't much down time and he couldnt just rant like he does on tv broadcasts. Also, when he calls a 15 footer a 3 point attempt, you cant see it to argue.

With TV, there is downtime, which allows him to say stupid sh*t. And of course, we can see what he is trying to describe (poorly of course).

I could never listen to Funk on the radio again, because I assumed he was calling the game correctly. Now that I know he's not, I wouldn't tolerate him on the radio either. Funk's whole career is now a sham to me.

Funk is not listenable. He's a basketball version of Ron Santo. He constantly incorrectly calls the players names and plays.

For example, there are periods in the game where he would keep calling Rondo - Rose and vice versa. Another thing he does which drives me nuts is he'll say a foul is an "and 1", when clearly the player missed the layup. And he brings no knowledge to the game. You would think that after all these years, he would have something to contribute, but it's all fluff.

I wouldn't mind the Bulls bringing back Tom Boerwinkle.

Very true. I suppose if hes hits the radio waves again, you can make believe that what he says is true. But in the back of your mind, you will know its just not right.

I think calling Joakim Noah, Derrick Rose was his worst one of the season. How can you confuse Derrick Rose with the 7 footer with a ponytail?
