I did a quick search for The Boys and didnt find a thread for this show over the past couple years, so forgive me if there already is one. I am only about 4 episodes in, so please no spoilers. Please.

The show has been recommended to me several times, and just never got around to watching.
Since the game on prime was like watching paint dry, I decided to give it a go since I had prime queued up.

Glad I did. The first 15 minutes of episode one and they already had me hooked.

Bare bones plot- Superheroes exist en masse.
A company monetizes them with 200+ under contract, leased out to cities for millions per year.
Commercialized, product placement, heavy P.R.
The best of the best are the "super 7" and generate billions. (a lower tier guy was offered to Baltimore on contract for 300 million a year).

The show explores dealing with the fallout of that situation, and quite honestly it does a good job so far of showing inevitable problems that would occur with super powered humans roaming the earth.

It is funny, dark, and absolutely adult oriented.
I highly recommend it based on what I have seen.

The Boys is a good one.

At the very least they hone in on what its like to be under the thumb of sociopaths (Homelander, The Deep, etc) with enough power to end you.

Like many series these days, its touching on the subject of overly-powerful elites who rampage thru society without accountability.

It is based off a comics series which is even harsher than the show in some cases.

You know, Angela Kang will need something else to ruin once TWD wraps up....

You just need to shut your mouth right now, good sir, before I come over to shatter it in a billion pieces for even speaking that into existence.

This show has been a blast that keeps getting better with more and more twisted Supes to be introduced to. Fun take on a genre that feels done to death these days.

They were hyping up the release of season two while we were all stuck at home a couple of years ago...so I got through that first season in one day, but having to wait two years for season three was brutal. I am kind of envious of the OP for not having to suffer that.

Enjoy and will be back when you are up to speed OP!

That is just too much Cena for me, but I did think 'Doom Patrol' was much better than expected.

You are just the worst, lmao.

I will say this- the last scene I watched was pretty much the lady breast feeding Homelander... so I would guess If Angela Kang watched that, she would get so wet she would slip right off her chair at that scene.

I cant even begin to think of how she could one up that... the only thing I could think of more female empowering than that would be creating a new hero and naming her Mulva as a nod to seinfeld... an all powerful woman whos vagina can expand and envelop people in a brainwashing cocoon that makes them 100% subservient to females.

Scenes/ concepts that airtime absolutely loved, unique to this take on superheroes....

Hueys girlfriends death.
Butcher using a baby as a weapon.
the exploitation and methodology of exploiting Translucent's weakness.
The dolphin (and the fucked up conversation with said dolphin before Deep hits the brakes)
Homelanders exit from the plane and justification of only taking Mave.

Shout out to the aerial background sex in the club.

This could be a fertile and long lasting concept.
It is what I was expecting from "Hancock", but far better.

I feel like what Homelander did to Maeve in the finale fight this past season, may not vibe with the Kang Gang's feminism.
