The Bryan Bickell Thread

Interesting what a year makes. In January of 2010 I was bowling with him while he was a Rockford IceHog. I had a small chat with his mom and girlfriend at the game this week and

it made me realize how far he has come in twelve months with name on the Cup, ring, part of the team through the post season and leading up to the Cup.

Good stuff. I have become a Bickell fan for sure. He is one guy that really stepped up while the Hawks kept losing guys to injuries. Club needs to do all it can to make this guy a part of the long term plans. A few NHL seasons under his belt and Bickell will be a key member for the Hawks. He sure has worked his ass off to get where he is now. Never bitched and complained either. I like him a lot. He has a slight cockiness to him also which helps.

He needs to be more physical. For a guy his size, he doesn't hit nearly enough. Some games he plays with an edge, some games he plays as physical as Kane. Makes no sense to me. THe is only part of the long term plans if he can play a physical game CONSISTENTLY.
