We gotz a runners thread and a rowing one, might as well have a cycling one too. Even though Im not cycling outdoors or on a true indoor trainer. I upgraded some decades old fucking friction upright exercise bike and started that journey. Foot is fucked from something. No idea what, woke up with it fucked 2-3 weeks ago. had a ultrasound on around me achilles/heel a couple days ago will see me doc monday.
Basically cutting out most of everything except a bike for now.
Use to offroad bike years ago but its been awhile since i put any effort into pushing a pedal. The shitty exercise bike we had is no resistant to nearly full stop, there is no inbetween or build up via a@moderate path. its either light or push out a hemorrhoid. pure shit.
Went to amazon and they did their thing.. nothing like almost 100 pounds showing up in 2 days to some semi rural mountain range. their logistics are da shits..
Bought a Joroto X1P. Not to be confused with the X1S which use to be under the same listing. The X1S is friction and the X1P is magnetic. Joroto have several budget options like the X2, X2Pro etc etc. X2 was seen as a good budget peloton option according to cycling peoples, just without da tech, the X2pro upgraded on that some with blluetooth. Their X4S is a a cheaper competitor to da schwinn ic4 iirc and read correctly.
However, I went wiff da X1p for 2 hundred, saving hundreds. I dont need bluetooth and shit. If i wanna race indoors, id get a road bike and trainer.. i just need something till me foot is 100 and something that feels decent enough to crosstrain going forward.
anywho, whats the X1P like? a fucking godsend compared to the piece of shit I was using from time to time.. going from a decades old upright stationary to this spin bike is a huge upgrade...
Shit is solid metal. I mean if you weigh 655 pounds, maybe you bending it.... its rated for 300 pounds and like most things, thats a safe estimate and probably can be pushed a lil higher if pig tits wanna risk it.
Was easy to put together. It only required a few parts that needed bolting/screwing. the frame/belt/wheel are already set up.. Smooth as when pedalling and the resistance has a good range from light to heavy as **** if need be.. The electronics are better than the basic X2 model, but still entry. It does have the all important RPM.. at least its important to me.
While in operation its as Silent as Pig tits victims.. silent yo..
Only con for me is the seat. I may upgrade that to something else i use to have on me bike. i mean its works as is, but if imma be putting in time.. might as well.. i could also upgrade to different pedals.. the stock ones work too.. but its about preference.. i dont need locking pedals n shit, but maybe something i use to use on me bike.
How will it hold long term idk... Ive only used it for a couple of days to start...justt doing 15km sessions this week. 20-25 nex and then +++++ the following....i checked me times for me age at 5k im in the middle of that advance elite range already.. thats without pushing it.. i should have been an exercise bike pro.
If you is 6'1, 6'2 and above this model may be too small for you.. you would need one of their other models
