It would depend on how you define christian. I can tell you the Roman Catholic Church and other orthodox churches don't consider it a christian religion. Having grown up in a splinter of the Mormon religion I kind of consider it a cult myself.

I define it as a christian religion if they hold the belief that Christ died for our sins and and was resurrected. Isn't that the major tenet of Christianity?

The concept of original sin plays a big role in that as well.



As far as the Mormon belief goes, I think the whole religion is based on the rambling muses of a drunken con man. If you look at historical biographies of Joseph Smith it does not paint a pretty picture of the man, even those put forth by the various sects of Mormonism.

Oh, I am not disagreeing, and by no means am I saying Mormonism is the way to go. Just I consider any religion based in the belief of Christ to be Christian.
