I agree with all of those but the D-man one. Campbell should have gotten it

Campbell doesn't really have the honor of going up against the opponent's best line game-in and game-out.

I think that counts against him.

I would have voted for CC for most improved considering what I saw of him in the past. I was concerned about him prior to this season.

Agree...it's easier to look good when always playing against lesser players. Seabrook wins this one in a landslide IMO.

I didn't vote...not even sure where this vote took place? But I agree with all results except best forward. I'd go with Sharp for best forward. Toews didn't show up early in the season and he again dissapeared late in the season and in the playoffs (until that late game 7 goal). Sharp was consistant all year and carried this team through many stretches.

I didn't know about this, either. For me, it reflects how often I frequent their official site.

Best forward was Sharp.

He or Crawford were easily the MVP.

edit: thinking about it some more...

I like Seabrook as the top D-man. Campbell made huge strides this year, but Seabrook playing the full 82 games is huge to me and he was really one of the only physical players on this team. Also, he really came on offensively towards the end of the season (right after he signed his new deal oddly enough) and just kinda raised his overall game during the most important stretch of the year. I've liked the guy for a while, but he really showed some growth this year- which is especially impressive considering the step back that the team took.

Play of the year- I like Ben Smith's game 6 winner more. Loved his huge game 2 performance in the series. It was like he didn't give a shit that his team was struggling and getting beat up by the Canucks. Guy just played hard and had a beast of a game, even though it resulted in a loss. And then for him to net that OT winner on home ice to send the series to 7? I was as happy for Smith as I was for the Blackhawks for winning. Just a huge goal and hopefully a sign of things to come.

That said, if Toews' goal in game 7 wasn't so ugly, I could give it the nod. It was just so unexpected and it came so late in the game... I was already resigned to Luongo getting the shutout in that game and it was making me sick. For Toews to put one by him and send the game to OT where anything was possible... huge, huge goal.

Oh, and special consideration for play of the year goes to John Scott and the best use of ULTRA MO in the history of ULTRA MO.

edit 2: **** it... one more John Scott fight just because it was related to the first video I posted. Foley telling Stortini that he's been thunderstruck cracks me up every time (at 0:17).
