The Flyers are DIRTY!

I like it, and the pace but the Flyers are so dirty.

It's all they probably got though --- you only play dirty when you know you are outmatched... ask any of the hundreds of Oakland Raiders head coaches - in what, the last 5 years.

Well it's sort of like boxing I think - where you get a guy that knows he's overmatched there is a lot of clutching and grabbing as it is all they got. It isn't particularly pretty.

Otoh I have been on some teams that were so untalented they couldn't even pull off playing dirty.

Im not gonna lie, I love the way the Flyers play though. Old Time Hockey at it's finest.

Flyers didn't start playing like this just now, it's been like this all playoffs. I think they were the better team against the Devils, but they still played just as dirty. I think it's just the way the Flyers play and the way Laviolette encourages play.

It's a hell of a lot of fun to watch. Lappy, Carcillo and Carter are like blasts from the past.

yeah it is! Always intense and when I say dirty that is definitely not an insult. I wish the Hawks played like that.

I have to agree with that ... I mean it doesn't get much closer than 2x 1 goal games other than going to OT to decide it. Sounds like it is a great series.

It's worked well for them and their toughness seems to have calmed down our 1st line....if it works, go with it.

Well their nickname has always been "The Broad Street Bullies". No reason to change their MO if it works for them. It's just that we have too many weapons for them to deal with on a consistant basis.

First post...don't let my screen name give anyone the wrong opinion about me..LOL Since when does tough hockey have to do with playing dirty? There are two parts to playing the game, the skill part and the physical part. Both are almost equally important in the way you win games. If you can't match up skill wise, you will need to amp up the hitting and tough play to compete. The Flyers are a big physical team that can hit and also have enough skilled players to almost go toe to toe with the Hawks. I have not seen a lot of dirty play from either team....including Pronger. I'm a die hard Hawks fan....this is not easy for me to post.

I'm not sure having a Fyer fan like me is a good thing.....LOLOLOL This is nothing like the Flyer team I hated in the 70's. Lot's of talent....but what a bunch of GOONS!
