Now that our offensive line is good, I think it has ruined our defensive line. Maybe Peppers and Melton are so used to using human practice dummies to work on their pass rush moves that they are rusty and don't practice well without them...? Could the reason Lovie Smith was always so content with the O-Line was because they were actually only here to help make the defense better???

I think the woes on the d-line so far can be attributed to Peppers health. From listening to Peppers the other day I think he's going to come out Sunday night with a chip on his shoulder. It sounded like he felt slighted when everyone assumed his lackluster play so far was due to his age and not his health.

IMO...I think we got a glimpse the first two weeks of what its going to be like after Peppers is gone.

The DL's issues are pretty much a result of the highest paid players not producing (Peppers and Melton). Then add in a bust of a first round draft pick we have in Shea (at least looking at it thus far) and there you have it. I also think they miss Israel Idonije more than people want to admit.

If Melton gets his head out of his ass and Peppers gets over the flu bug, I think they can return to form. That or Marinelli really was a miracle working with DL's.

I pretty sure whoever replaces Peppers will at the very least have the impact of a actual human being actually being present...which is more than you can say about Peppers at this point.

wut?

And anyway, bite your tongue on the OL. They still have a lot to prove.

agree.

This line is not yet good, but it's easy to see why Bears fans think it is.

This is what happens when you get to see one of the worst lines in the league year after year...

It is however better, and there is potential there...

The bottom line is Peppers and Melton didn't have a preseason. They are just now working back into game shape. Peppers maybe played 1/2 a quarter in preseason. Melton got hurt on like the 2nd play he was on the field. They missed a ton of practice time. Peppers also faced Matt Kalil last Sunday. I think both will turn it around.

The lackluster performance of the DL has already been explained. There was a boil water order issued for all drinking fountains in the facility. All of the drinking fountains had a pot on top of a sterno burner, except the DL drinking fountain. Now that they've had a chance to puke, they will be fine.

I thought that Melton would be playing for a big contract....maybe not. Maybe we can say that it's only been two weeks and there are 14 games left until we determine whether or not the DL blows.

The DL will be fine. It's actually GOOD news that Paea has been the best player on the DL so far, imo.

You are so fucking stupid. Peppers wasn't even on the field for half the snaps and three plays he was in he dropped into coverage.
