I think they should put Bill Buckner on the cover of MLB The Show :lmao:

I want LaTroy Hawkins on the cover.

But he would be better suited for MLB 2K, considering the amount of home runs given up in that game.

If Bill Buckner was ever on the cover of MLB The Show I would buy 2 copies. One to play and one to keep untouched.

And it wasn't even his fault they lost. No one talks about the pitcher that threw the wild pitch before him that allowed the tying run to score. I think it was Calvin Schiraldi (spelling?). A former Cub as well.

I always had the impression (being too young to remember) that if Buckner made the play and beat Mookie Wilson to 1st base that the Red Sox would have won the world series. No. If Buckner made that out the game would have went to extra innings, where they would of had zero momentum and probably still lost.

And I believe they were up 3-0 in Game 7 too. But somehow Buckner gets all the heat.

Well it's just like Bartman getting all the flack for the Cubs not making to the World Series. The Mets were just a team of destiny to win it, kind of like the '04 Red Sox.

Yep, exactly.

That bum Alex Gonzalez better send Bartman a gift basket every damn Christmas because he saved him a lifetime of grief.

20 years from now people will remember Bartman, but not that ****** Alex Gonzalez for botching a routine groundball. Even if it wasn't a DP it would have been at least 1 out to stop the bleeding a bit.
