The Jorge Soler Ejection/Probable Suspension Thread

So, Soler slides hard into second trying (and failing) to break up a double play. Words are exchanged between Soler and the Clearwater 2nd baseman. Baez had to restrain Soler, and the benches cleared but no punches were thrown. Everyone went back to the dugout, but then Soler got a bat and brought it over to the Clearwater dugout and may or may not have taken a swing at the dugout wall, seemingly challenging the whole thing. Baez and the Daytona manager "restrained" him and brought him back to the dugout as he was being ejected.

How long do you think this suspension goes for?

I think it maxes at 10 games. Not smart, but the dude must have said something BAD to Soler. It's no excuse, but man...what did he say?

@BradleyEmery2 he broke up a double play hard and the guy nudge him while he was on the ground and he got up and they were in each others face and the benches and bullpens cleared and once they got him away and into the dugout he grabbed a bat and sprinted at the other dugout and was right in front of the dugout yelling and screaming god knows what

This. Bud does like to do that. I could see this as being per-meditated in the eyes of the Commish and slap the same punishment as they would a first time drug user. I could also see the law getting involved depending on the details as the bat would be construed as a weapon. Probably not likely, but I wouldn't be shocked at all.

ok, given that there is like a 0.01% chance of a life time ban, this is the Cubs after all, so it's probably 50/50 that he gets a life time ban and Baez gets one too as Selig refers to the Stern rule of "first one off the bench"

Was pleasantly surprised when I saw just 5 games yesterday, but now of course there is more pressure on Baez and his early struggles since they won't have Soler raking right behind to focus on for a week.
